My reason for joining aKDPhi was originally rooted in a desire to learn more about mine and others’ cultures, as well as to surround my myself with women who are passionate about leadership, culture, and scholarship. Although I am still passionate about all of these things, over the years, aKDPhi has specifically shaped my teamwork and leadership skills. As a Music Industry student, I can thank aKDPhi for the experience and opportunities that have come my way within my career development, including an internship with The Recording Academy/GRAMMYs!

Being in aKDPhi has been such a blessing! I didn't know what I wanted to do or where I wanted to be and all these hardworking women have motivated me to be my best self. They have taught me and inspired me so much to be more than just a student, but to be a sister, a friend and a leader to others. I truly felt at home when I met these girls for the first time, I felt like I could be myself and express myself through my culture and differences without being judged. They really make me feel seen and I can't imagine my life if I chose a different path without them. I love all my sisters to the moon and back.

While rushing aKDPhi, the girls were all very welcoming towards me and I could potentially see myself joining. With that envisioned, I also was able to be my most authentic self and that was one of my key indicators for me. aKDPhi also provides me to continue strengthening my skills and connections that will last even after I graduate.
